ICC-Profiles

An ICC-profile (color-profile) is a standardized file. This file describes the color space of a monitore or printer. The goal of using such a color profile is that a template wich was captured with any input device can be reproduced as similar as possible on other output devices. Such ICC profiles can match devices (e.g. printers). ICC stands for International Color Consortium and is an association of many graphics, image processing and layout program manufacturers. The aim was to standardize color management systems.
